ELI: Grammar Essentials

ClassGraphic Five paragraph essay writing. Topics will be explored through reading and discussion before writing essays. Students will organize ideas into clear paragraphs with correct punctuation. Students will learn summary, compare/contrast, cause/effect, and argumentative essays. Practice timed writings. Select correct uses of all the verb forms of English. Recongnize shifts in construction of clauses. Recognize accurate realtionships among clauses, agreement, conjunctions, transtions words. Can select correct punctuation related to meaning. Know when language is appropriate for a given context or situation, and understand how meaning can change with context.
