This course will introduce you to CPT and HCPCS procedure coding. Procedure coding is used by healthcare providers and outpatient facilities to bill for services. Each procedure code is assigned a fee that is used for calculating reimbursement for services provided. You will enhance your knowledge of coding by learning the purpose and terminology of CPT coding, the organization of the CPT manual and the relationship between CPT codes and reimbursement. This course will include evaluation of case studies and application of coding conventions. Textbooks required.
