ClassGraphic Gain a working knowledge of the medical billing and reimbursement process. You will cover all areas of submitting, tracking, and appealing insurance claims for a full range of healthcare plans. Topics such as government funded programs, managed care plans, fraud, and HIPAA will be introduced and discussed along with hands-on coding of claim forms, recognizing denials, and understanding how to determine if correct reimbursement has been made. Access to a computer and a valid email account outside of class is required. Textbook required. Prerequisites: Structure & Function of the Human Body and Medical Terminology, Introduction to ICD-10-CM, Introduction to CPT/HCPCS Coding. Intermediate Medical Coding.
