« back to classes page
ClassGraphic Writing what people want to read starts with asking one simple question - what topics are needed in the world? If you are relating to your subject, so is someone else! In this workshop learn how to pick out stories, find sources that make you the expert, trim a pitch, manage your writing time in tune with an editorial schedule and surprise yourself with success! Students will also discover the secret to conducting concise, and comfortable, interviews, lightening sentence load to meet specific word counts and tips for staying faithful to the communities their topics will best serve. Each class begins with a mini-lesson, and it includes writing prompts with feedback sessions. Participants will be invited to conclude their experience by contributing one short piece to their choice of local publication. A passion for change and a pen will get you started!
