The Human Resources Professional course prepares you for a career in human resources. This course explores the foundational aspects of HR, including human resource laws, hiring disciplines, and labor relations. You will learn industry-recognized practices that align with the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
By the time you finish the course, you will be equipped to start your career in this growing field. Additionally, you will be prepared to take the HRCI's Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification exam. The PHR certification recognizes that an individual holds the knowledge and experience needed to excel in human resource management.
You will also learn information useful for other certification exams, including SHRM’s Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) exam and the HRCI’s Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR) exam.
Instructor(s):Anna Smith has worked in the human resources field for 30 years and has taught at the university level for over 20 years. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Spalding University, a master's degree in management from Webster University, and a Master Online Teaching certificate from the University of Illinois. She is also a certified Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI), a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources, and an SHRM Senior Certified Professional. Her experience spans many areas of human resources, including recruitment, labor relations, and affirmative action plans.
Ann Nevers holds a law degree and a master's in health law. She works in dispute resolution for business, employment, and health care and regularly teaches courses in these areas. She has published numerous academic articles, edited legal manuals, and written chapters on employment, dispute resolution, and health care topics.
