ClassGraphic This course will introduce you to the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM). ICD-10-CM is used to code diagnoses that describe patient conditions, diseases, illnesses, injuries and other reasons for seeking healthcare services. You will become familiar with the organization of the ICD-10-CM coding manual and how to apply official guidelines and conventions for accurate coding of diagnoses. This course will include out-of-class work such as reading and writing assignments, practice and practical application assignments. Required Pre-requisites: Human Anatomy & Physiology and Medical Terminology. Required textbooks: Step-by-Step Medical Coding, 2018 Edition, Author: Carol J. Buck- ISBN: 9780323430814; Required coding manual: ICD-10-CM Code Book 2018 or 2019 Edition.
